You’re in the Army Now

The US Army sponsors the world record-holding Top Fuel dragster team? Oh yes it does! The Generals feel that the skill and teamwork involved in drag racing epitomise the standards their soldiers should reach in battle. Led by their driver Tony, “the Sarge” Schumacher the team has dominated the sport for the past seven years and their standing quarter record of  4.428 seconds and terminal speed of 337.58 mph has stood since 2006. Watch this incredible car as it sets the world record for the standing quarter at Brainerd, Minnesota:

You are riding a £200,000 Honda MotoGP bike. Over a mile up the road a Top Fuel dragster is ready to launch down a quarter mile strip as you pass. You have the advantage of a flying start.
You run the bike hard up through the gears and blast across the starting line and past the dragster at 200 mph.
At that moment the dragster launches and starts after you.You keep your wrist cranked hard, but you hear an incredibly brutal whine that sears your eardrums and within 3 seconds the dragster catches and passes you. He beats you to the finish line, a quarter mile away from where you just passed him. His terminal speed is around 330mph.

Now THAT is fast!
